Year 2 - John Lyons Visit

Year 2 loved having John Lyons visit on Thursday. He read some of his poetry and then each class wrote a poem with him. 2 Red's poem was about an ice cream and 2 Blue's an acorn.

Here is a video of John Lyons giving some advice to young poets.

Year 1- Our market trip and fruit tasting

This week we have been reading the poem 'Jamaica Market' so we went to the market too!

On Thursday, we bought lots of different fruits and vegetables like mangoes, peppers, oranges, avocados and limes, just like the ones in the poem.

Today, we tasted all the things we bought. We really liked the lime even though it was sour but we didn't like the ginger, it was too spicy.

Year 2 - Shopping for Johnnie Bake

This week some children in Year 2 went on a very special trip into Brixton. We were on an adventure to buy the ingredients to make John Lyon's favuorite Johnnie bake.

Do you know how to make Johnnie Bake?
What ingredients would you need and how do you make it?
